Fox Farm Vineyards
Until you really dive into and commit yourself to exploring the different sub-AVA’s of the Willamette Valley you will not understand, or possibly even believe me when I say that the pinot noir varietal in my opinion is the most transparent grape in existence.
Stopping into Fox Farm Vineyards and trying their site specific pinot noirs would be a very good introduction to this flavor journey. Owner David Fish is more then ready to be your tour guide in a glass.
Our first stop was a bright, lively and fruity pinot noir grown in the Dundee Hills. David immediately followed that with a dark and smoky pinot from the Yamhill / Carlton AVA.
Wines that are being produced from grapes grown in the Dundee hills are complex yet delicate, as David would say “Elegance is not weakness”. Watch our entire interview with him below.
You will not find Fox Farm wines in any store but you will find them at fine restaurants and resorts throughout the United States and of course inside their tasting room in Dundee, Oregon. You can also check out the latest vintages and consider being part of the wine club on their web site here.
