Youngberg Hill Winery

We drove up to Youngberg Hill winery and the first thing we noticed was the view. The tasting room looks out over the vineyard making it an ideal place to sample the fruit that is growing below.
The property features two distinct soils, marine sedimentary and volcanic as well as fluctuating elevations and slopes providing the wine maker Wayne Bailey a variety of delicious fruit. The warm daily temperatures are also cooled by the coastal air each night adding to the complexity of the wines and making this an ideal location for growing pinot noir.
The different blocks are named after their three daughters Jordan, Natasha and Aspen.

The wines are magnificent! That evening we were fortunate enough to stay in one of the private suites looking out over the vineyard and enjoy a delicious breakfast the next morning. You can see photos and read more about our stay here.
The wine tasting experience was very educational. You can watch the entire video we produced for them below as well as a short interview we had with Wayne discussing what is happening out in the vineyard at this time of year.
I am really looking forward to returning. And I mean that sincerely. The wines, the view, the stay, the hospitality all come together making this one of my favorite destinations in the Willamette Valley. Check out their current vintages by visiting their website here.
