Union Oregon
This is part 7 of our trip through eastern Oregon. If you would like to start at the beginning in the Alvord desert click here.
We are over half way through our trip and half way across the eastern part of Oregon. We called the Union Hotel and they offered to give us a room for the night as well as a delicious dinner and of course wine and cocktails. They also served us breakfast the next morning. You’ll have to watch the video further down in this post to see the food shots. Breakfast looks like it was amazing!!! As I am writing this I have been living in Spain for two years and they do not have ‘big American breakfasts’ here but rather toast, so this is making me drool.

The owners are delightful and full of information about the history of the town. Our room was more like an apartment complete with a full kitchen that we would of course not have to use. For some reason I did not take interior photos on this trip but I did take lots of video footage so the hotel and food shots are all in the video below.
Also in the above video is a very informative walking tour that we filmed showing all the historic locations around town and info about some of the older buildings. There is also a story of someone being buried alive in the local cemetery.

As I mentioned in part 1 of this travelogue we called this trip “Bisque Kitt’s Big Adventure”. He traveled with a few of his toys and we were very lucky the entire trip to be welcomed into pet friendly accommodations.
It was finally time to journey on to the part of the state I was most excited about, the Wallowa Mountains. The entire adventure has been amazing, scenic and a little weird. It is desolate out here in this sparsely populated part of Oregon. The people have been very welcoming and generous and now it is time to go to the mountains in part 8 of Bisque Kitt’s Big Adventure!
